Leakages and spills can cause very dangerous effects on systems, human and environment. But is also cost money for clean up and product loss. Small sensors are needed to alarm immediately in case of a leakage.
In some cases a gas detector is sufficient and is also relatively cheap. But wind may blow away the cloud before it is measured. Detecting liquids may be more effective and faster and therefor that safer in use. Especially when the ultrasonic spectroscopy sensor of Arenal is used: they are maintenance free and react within one second to any type of liquid leakage: chemicals, oils, soaps, milk or beer.
Detecting leaks can be done immediately in the leakage points, but also in sewer systems. Like with some gas detection system which suck multiple point ambient air into one Analyser, such configurations for leak detection can be done as well for liquid analysis.
Embodiments When choosing ultrasonic spectroscopy sensors, we herewith help you selecting the correct products. Arenal offers solutions for applications with a variety of embodiments. Actually in most cases only the probe size, body shape, body material and sensor material changes, while the transmitter and Analysers keeps the same.
Depending on the application and requirement of the customer, submersible or inline sensors are used. But the small laboratory probes suit as well.

Applications
Although the ceramic ultrasonic and thermal sensors of Arenal PCS can be applied in any liquid in the world, it is mainly designed for abrasive slurries and pastes, which can be found in Mineral and Metal processing plants, dredging and tunneling. Arenal is actively involved in industrial slurries, like in CMP, pigment and catalysts slurries and battery pastes and potato starch slurries.
The optimal slurry for measuring density, flow and massflow is a homogene turbulent slurry in a pipe or vessel, with a large concentration of particles below 1 mm.
